Nice article about Prague, prices are going to be more reasonable in Prague this year, business owners are trying to catch travelers by lowering their prices... good for backpackers.

To be honest, you should be able to get by fine with £20-25 a day if you eat at the cheaper places. That wouldn't include going out at night though. Anyway, if you have £30 a day available, you should do fine in Prague. It's not the bargain it was a few years ago, but it's still quite a bit cheaper than old Blighty. :)

I'll be heading to Prague in 6 weeks and this is just what I was looking for.

What would you say a decent daily budget is? I'm thinking something around 30 pound per day. (Looking to do it on the cheap) but I'm not too sure.

I've always stayed in Hostel 99 myself, but I've heard great things about KH. Traveller's Hostel is a great place to drink though, but as for the gypsy bar - oh I have great memories of that place. :D I'll be posting more on CZ and Krumlov in the near future.

Thanks for all of the great insight!

I'd also recommend Miss Sophie's (www.miss-sophies.com), a boutique hostel/hotel owned by the same owners as Czech Inn and Sir Toby's. It is centrally located at I.P. Pavlova and offers gorgeous design, kitchen and uber-cool lounge space, amazing rain-head showers, big, fluffy pillows and oh-so-comfy beds, an amazingly helpful staff, free wifi throughout the building and so much more!

Also, they'll be opening a new property in 2010 called, 'Mosaic House' - www.mosaichouse.com. Keep your eyes out for it...it sounds fantastically unique.

Check out the Lennon Wall, located on the Mala Strana side of Karluv Most (the bridge) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lennon_Wall.

As far as Cesky Krumlov goes, I'm in love with Krumlov House (www.krumlovhostel.com) - the owners rock and the managers are so amazing!! The gypsy bar is a must-hang...head there for music and good food/pivo on a Friday or Saturday night!

Safe and happy travels,
